A Pro Tip for Getting Ahead of the Holidays — Stock Up on Shellfish!

November 9th, 2023

A full freezer for warm gatherings

Is it me, or does anyone else feel that the showing up of a carved pumpkin somehow ignites a time-lapse function in the tempo of our lives, suddenly speeding up our schedules maniacally toward the great holidays crescendo? As if a certain magic was held within the jagged teeth and sweet pulp of the gourd itself to instantly whip everything into light speed toward New Years. The moments tumble forward, from candy corn to candied yams to candy cane to can you believe it's already December 31st?!

And here we are on the threshold of that whirlwind, reveling in the foliage that will soon turn to frost. Enjoying that certain crispness in the air that will soon make slipper-wearers of us all. To which I say, wouldn't it be nice to glide into the part of the year (in our slippers) without the hullabaloo of holiday pressure? Without the chaos of last-minute planning and onslaught of obligations?

Well, you can. We all can.

All it takes is some stocking up. If we take the time now to fill our freezers with fare-fit-for-feasts, we expeditiously check off the easiest part of planning our most special forthcoming holiday meals. And wild-caught Alaskan shellfish is some of the most decadent, guest-pleasing, delicious and easy food to serve for the holidays.

Whether it's Grilled Weathervane Scallops With Sweet Maple-Bourbon Glaze as the perfectly autumnal Thanksgiving appetizer; or the classic Spot Prawn Cocktail with which to welcome to your guests; or a big old pot of Dungeness Crab for which you can present a fleet of dipping sauces — feasting on shellfish for the holidays is the everybody-wins no-brainer you can get ahead of now.

If you haven’t seen or tried one of our limited-time boxes, this holiday season may be the perfect time. The Shellfish Lovers 5-Pack comes with all you need to make these favorite holiday shellfish recipes for parties, family dinners, and personal feasts.

‘Cause when it comes to making your life a little easier this holiday season, there’s nothing selfish about stocking up on shellfish.

Live wild,

Monica

P.S. This week, we’re celebrating Veterans Day, and I want to give a special note of thanks to all of our members who have served, and who have family members that serve.

P.P.S. We’re very excited to be nominated for USA Today’s 2023 Reader’s Choice Award for Best Meat Delivery Service.
