Why I’m Thankful for You, the WAC Members — Gratitude Series, Part IV

November 22nd, 2024

How You Inspire Us to Be the Best Version of Ourselves

I can honestly think of no better group to celebrate on this last installment of my November Gratitude Series than you, cherished members, the recipients of the Alaskan seafood we provide — but also the ones who each month so graciously give us your trust.

Your belief in us, your loyalty, and your care for the environment and the culture of Alaska’s commercial fisheries allow us to orchestrate an Alaskan seafood membership that is in concert with nature. We often speak about the cycles to which places like Alaska must always hold dear, but the truth is that you, dear members, are an integral element of this particular cycle, a key place on the collective journey that fuels the rest of it.

We also talk a lot about family around here. But today, I want to emphasize that for us family extends far beyond that of our relatives. This wondrous fish family that the WAC team shares with its members is one forged by a common desire to nourish wisely, to care intently and to share with love. Around these tenets we all gather, as a family committed to the betterment of our collective mother, Nature. Your consistent willingness to participate in this exchange is not something that we take lightly. It actually means the world to us.

From this beautiful member community, my husband Arron (WAC founder + CEO) and I have received personal cards with the most heartfelt messages, original artwork — including an original “salmon song” about being a bear in a past life — all varieties of Alaskan ephemera and even a hand-made baby blanket when our first child was born.

The truth is that Arron and I could have never imagined the glorious influx of love that would come with this business. It is this love, your well-nourished families and happy bellies, and all the memorable meals you share together that inform our mission and our vision, and push us to be the best version of ourselves. So, thank you, WAC family. Without you, none of what we do would be possible.
