One of my favorite spring cleaning projects is a grand reorganization of my pantry, wherein I take full stock of the spices and species that are already in my kitchen, then build upon what I have with a fresh influx of ingredients — new tastes and flavors to help me transition into the next season of cooking.
On my pantry shelves, my go-to seasonings are always up front, the routine and reliable flavors on heavy rotation from week to week. But tucked away in the corners are condiments that have accumulated over the years — impulsive pantry purchases, souvenirs of spice from travels past, ingredients that were simply pushed out of sight and out of mind.
It’s a trove of culinary possibilities, and in our digital era of choice overload, I find it much more exciting to shake up my recipe routine using these overlooked spices, rather than aimlessly searching for meal inspo amid an infinite scroll. Even something as simple as an air-fried fillet of fish, coated in a nearly-forgotten seasoning blend or sauce, adds a delicious element of novelty to any weeknight dinner spread.
If you, too, are in the process of refreshing your recipe rotation for spring, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention WAC’s first-time-ever spring sale, featuring 25% off a dynamic lineup of offerings that are exclusive to you, dear members. This sweet, spring deal is a timely opportunity to stock up on some of your favorite species, or to try something new, now that we’re on the other side of the spring equinox.
To help guide you through the options, I’ve picked out a standout recipe to pair with each offering:

Dungeness Crab Sushi Bowl: An easy recipe that has a laidback sushi night feel.
Sidestriped Shrimp
Honey Garlic Shrimp: A simple, sweet, and savory dish that becomes extraordinary when made with some of the sweetest shrimp on the planet.

Ground Sockeye Salmon
Creamy Salmon-Dill Stroganoff: A cozy dish that is perfect for chilly spring nights.

Yelloweye Rockfish
Brown Butter Roasted Yelloweye: A just-rich-enough dish that feels especially seasonal, since it features a spring medley of vegetables.
Pacific Halibut Quick Cuts
Grilled Fish Skewers With Maple-Sriracha Glaze: A year-round treat that you can even make indoors on a cast-iron grill pan.

Monica
