Wild Alaskan Company Hits Shelves Nationwide With Target Launch
September 13th, 2026The Launch Builds on the Loyal Membership That Has Anchored Wild Alaskan Company’s Subscription Business
Wild Alaskan Company brings five wild-caught Alaskan seafood favorites to Target stores nationwide, expanding access to premium, sustainably sourced seafood beyond its digital-first subscription platform.
HOMER, Alaska — September 13, 2026 — Wild Alaskan Company, a premium seafood brand built on a direct-to-consumer subscription model, today announced its nationwide partnership at Target. Starting today, and rolling out to stores nationwide over the coming weeks, Target shoppers will be able to find a curated lineup of five approachable, wild-caught seafood products from Wild Alaskan Company.
The launch builds on the loyal membership that has anchored Wild Alaskan Company’s subscription business and its presence on Target Plus, in service of the company’s mission to accelerate humanity’s transition to sustainable food systems.
“The seafood options available to most Americans are surprisingly limited,” said Arron Kallenberg, founder and CEO of Wild Alaskan Company. “I grew up in Alaska in a multigenerational commercial fishing family, so I was fortunate to have access to high-quality, wild-caught seafood from an early age. I’ve long believed that if we could simply get this fish into the hands of more Americans, it could completely change the way they think about fish.”
Only 1 in 10 Americans eat the two weekly servings recommended by USDA Dietary Guidelines (PubMed, 2024), and nearly 80% of the seafood Americans consume is imported (NOAA, 2022), often from markedly less sustainable sources than America’s own domestic wild seafood production. Alaska remains the single-largest domestic source of seafood, yet it accounts for a fraction of what is consumed in the U.S. Wild Alaskan Company's research points to why: shoppers don't trust unlabeled seafood, can’t tell good from bad, and aren't confident cooking it. So they skip the aisle.
"Nearly a decade of subscriber data has shown us that seafood has a trust problem the rest of the grocery store solved years ago," said Emily Buckley, SVP of Brand and Innovation at Wild Alaskan Company, who led the strategy behind the retail launch. "People want sourcing they can verify and feel good about, and a piece of fish they actually know how to cook. Target’s team saw that same opportunity. They were the right retail partner to seize it with.”
The in-store lineup features five of the brand’s 30+ products, each 100% wild-caught, sustainably harvested in Alaska and frozen at peak freshness to preserve quality and flavor. Every product delivers 14-23 grams of protein per serving.
Offerings include (selection varies by location):
-
Pink Salmon
-
Sockeye Salmon with Lemon & Herb Butter
-
Wild Alaska Pollock Fillets
-
Wild Alaska Pollock Quick Cuts
-
Sablefish (Black Cod)
The launch coincides with Target's growing expansion into health and wellness, positioning the retailer as a go-to destination for affordable, everyday wellbeing — including food and beverage.
Wild Alaskan Company has built a strong community around wild-caught Alaska seafood as a reliable protein — in part, by building trust around its offerings and maintaining connections with the fishing communities that harvest and process it. As an extension of its subscription model, Wild Alaskan Company has also built one of the largest wild seafood cooking platforms with 600+ recipes, the Eat Wild Cookbook, and an engaging weekly newsletter helping subscribers from all over the country learn to cook wild seafood with confidence.
“High-quality seafood isn’t just for special occasions — it should be something people can enjoy at home any day of the week,” said Kallenberg. “In order to advance our mission, we need to get more Americans eating more American seafood, more often. In getting to know the Target team, it became clear that they share that vision. This partnership gives us another powerful way to make premium, wild-caught seafood more accessible as an everyday protein.”
Wild Alaskan Company is available starting today and will continue to roll out in the coming weeks in-store at Target, with the five-SKU lineup offering shoppers a first taste of the brand.
