Salmon Burgers Are the Ultimate Facilitators of Good Times

May 16th, 2024

Sun's Out, Buns Out

You know how sometimes you see a certain food item listed on a menu, or even just get a whiff of something delicious cooking in the near distance, or come across a plate of something that, in a mad jolt of sensory magic, instantly changes your personal alchemy? I'm talking about those moments when food is more than just food, but also a true catalyzer of sentiment and mood — of which today I'm here to say that salmon burgers are the perfect example.

Maybe it's their ease of preparation combined with their robustness of juicy, savory flavor. Maybe it's how well they pair with so many other ingredients, becoming something of a perfect umami canvas on which to play and experiment. Or maybe it's their sizzling aroma that perfumes backyard barbecues, beaches and picnics alike. All I know is that when burgers appear on the culinary horizon, I am hit with the certainty that good times are coming. Burgers are master indicators in the form of patties that fun is about to be had, memories to be made, and that good old fashioned rest, relaxation and recreation are all officially in session.

Beyond their boldness of flavor, inherent dynamism and approachability factor when it comes to cooking, burgers offer something for everyone. My husband Arron (WAC founder + CEO) loves a slab of cheese and a generous smearing of Japanese mayonnaise on his — whereas I like mine with ripe avocado slices and on a seeded multigrain bun. The point is that a burger can be as fussy or fuss-free as you want. Perhaps you're the fancy truffle aioli kind of person who will only accept a home-made sourdough bun. Or maybe you're the one who likes a burger to be like a world passport, taking you, through its curation of fixin's and sauces, to destinations all over the globe. Or maybe you're a classic — American cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles on a griddle-kissed bun. Or how about no bun, for those who opt to wrap their burgers in greens, crispy rice "buns" — or, for the true minimalists out there, even nothing at all.

So, whether you're on team burger maximalist or that of low-key and simple, it's that time of the year to invite over your favorite folks, throw on your go-to summer playlist, slather on the sunscreen and let our burgers do the rest.
