Description of Role

You’re a creative thinker who loves digging into data to create a story. As a trusted analyst who understands marketing funnels and customer journeys, you love turning insights into actionable business plans. Your team members rely on you to not only be the technical expert when it comes to customer data, but also as a strategic partner in attracting new audiences, creating experiments and increasing LTV.   

Reporting to the Director of Data Science & Analytics, you will accelerate Wild Alaskan’s customer insights and marketing channel efficiency by partnering most closely with the Growth and Member Experience teams to develop automated pipelines, quantitative analyses and data models, as well as other strategic initiatives across the organization.


CORE RESPONSIBILITIES


General

  • Own all phases of new analytics projects: from problem definition & goal setting to business requirements gathering to tracking  and reporting results
  • Oversee automation and upkeep of recurring reports to increase departmental and organizational efficiency
  • Own the quality and reliability of data from all sources
  • Build and expand data models in Looker to increase democratization of data that empowers teams to better build self-serve analyses and act on data
  • Manage multiple work streams, collaborate as part of cross-functional teams and nail deadlines; follow up with key stakeholders on a regular basis, and keep management teams properly informed of project progress / roadblocks on an ongoing basis 
  • Bring an agile mindset and push to continuously improve the quality of data

 

Marketing Analytics

  • Partner with the Growth team to develop quantitative analyses, forecasts, and reporting to support decision-making & optimization across upper, mid and lower funnel media
  • Work closely with Product & Engineering teams to ensure key website and marketing events are tracked in order to power conversion models & continuous improvement
  • Oversee data pipelines, including QA and maintaining data to enrich and enhance marketing datasets
  • Develop forecasting and models to shape marketing and business ROI decisions including attribution modeling, geographic, behavioral, and category purchase modeling

 

Customer Analytics

  • Serve as a domain expert for understanding consumer behavior and lead segmentation of customer databases 
  • Perform exploratory analyses on large volumes of data; extract, package and present recommendations to drive customer strategies
  • Work with retention team to uncover revenue opportunities & enable data-driven decisions by providing insights that will improve LTV, subscription rate, repeat rate, purchasing frequency and help reduce churn 
  • Analyze data from our data warehouse, marketing & Voice of Customer platforms, and qualitative user research to identify new revenue streams, optimize value propositions and improve the customer experience
  • Ideate, build and implement customer-centric dashboards, reports and ad-hoc analyses

QUALIFICATIONS


Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in Analytics or related role
  • Experience in subscription-based business or ecommerce
  • Demonstrated expertise in Business, Analytics, Statistics, or other quantitative field
  • Acute attention to detail and experience in QA/data cleaning
  • Ability to take complex data and present it in a digestible, strategic business story
  • Advanced SQL (preferably Postgres), Excel, Powerpoint/Slides ability
  • Hands-on development experience with BI visualization tools (preferably Looker)
  • Advanced experience with Google Analytics or other site/marketing analytics tools
  • Comfort juggling multiple priorities in a fast moving organization
  • Strength in analytical and critical thinking
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Collaborative and a supporter of data openness

Nice to Haves

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Love for seafood and sustainability
  • Management consulting or agency experience a plus
  • Experience with our existing tools: Snowflake, Looker, Google Analytics
