Content Strategist

Remote, based in U.S.

Wild Alaskan Company is looking for a creative and organized Content Strategist to create and deploy our content marketing. Applicants for this position should understand the mechanics of creative writing, video-based storytelling and how well-structured content helps grow businesses and engage current members and like-minded audiences. This is a great role for an experienced content creator who maintains high editorial standards, expresses brand values in our content, can streamline contributor processes and has experience in SEO. This role will report into the Executive Creative Director and work closely with Lifecycle Marketing, Product Design and the Head of Communications. The Creative Strategist is responsible for content strategy across an array of touchpoints including native and non-native content platforms.

From day one, you’ll embody the brand voice and use best practices in content marketing to collaborate with our internal teams to build and execute content strategies that will help grow and articulate what Wild Alaskan Company is all about. Thoughtful content means thoughtful content, so you are format agnostic—from editorial long-form video, seo articles, recipe development, social platform, infographics or UX copy. You drive towards clarity, meaning and why people should care, with a unique appreciation for every form. You will also be responsible for managing content production with a small team of freelancers. We are considering candidates with strong backgrounds in both editorial content strategy and copywriting.


  • Articulate and own content strategy that ladders to our brand.  
  • Deepen our brand voice and widen our reach into culturally relevant topics.
  • Act as manager and contributor—you will split your time between writing (content and scripts) and managing strategy. 
  • Streamline content creation by assigning work, setting deadlines and managing our team of freelance writers and video creators.
  • Evaluate lifecycle touchpoint and identify content gaps and determine the value of existing content.
  • Source and grow contributors who have the know-how when you don’t and know how to guide them through delivery of work as well as help them understand our purpose and mission.
  • Report on performance of content, content-focused channels and process. 
  • Collaborate closely with the creative director, social management, growth, and lifecycle marketers.



  • At least 3 years of creative content marketing experience. 
  • Experience in DTC and subscription-based services.
  • Proficiency with SEO best practices.
  • Understanding of UX copywriting best practices.
  • Experience concepting for various forms of storytelling. 
  • Strong editorial instincts and complete mastery of writing, we’re looking for an all around content strategist who can edit for grammar, style and user experiences.
  • Experience managing lead strategy and research processes for content projects.
  • Experience managing relationships with writers and creators, and streamline editorial processes (content calendars, communication, etc.).
  • Experience working within WordPress and other content management systems. 

Nice to Haves:  

  • Experience with mission-driven and/or food-based brands. 
  • Experience managing multiple freelance creators.
